Overview – HiGlo Strip is made of filter paper
Each sterile strip impregnated with 0.5 mg. of
fluorexon disodium salt. Sterilized by EO.
Use – It is most commonly used diagnostic
strip. Used in assessments of tear film break-up
time in contact lens wearers and non-contact
lens wearers.
Direction – Moisten the tip of strip (the side with
fluorexon disodium) by 1 or 2 drops of sterile
normal saline (Alternatively tear fluid from the
lower fornix may be used; While the patient looks
up, stroke the moistened tip along the bulbar
conjunctiva. The patient should then blink
several times to obtain the best result.
Packing – Each strip includes 0.5 mg fluorexon
disodium salt. 1 strip / pouch, 100 pouches/ box.
