Overview – Fluorescein Sodium Strip is made of filter paper impregnated with highly pure fluorescein sodium solution. Sterilized by EO
Use – It is the most commonly used diagnostic strip used to visualise defects or abrasions in the corneal epithelium by staining the areas of cellular loss. Also useful for evaluation of hard contact lens fitting & applanation tonometry.
Direction – Moisten the tip of the strip (the side with the fluorescein sodium) by 1 or 2 drops of sterile water or sterile ophthalmic irrigating solution; touch the fornix or conjunctiva gently by the wet tip. For optimal results, the patient should blink several times after application

Each sterile strip is impregnated with 1mg of Fluorescein Sodium I.P. Each box contains 100 sterile strips.This product is used for the staining of the anterior segment of the eye when fitting contact lenses. To ensure full fluorescence and patient comfort when using these strips, the impregnated tip should be moistened before application. One or two drops of sterile irrigating or saline solution should be used for this purpose. Touch conjunctiva or fornix as required with moistened tip. It is recommended that the patient blink several times after application.
